DECADE: in 794 cardiac surgery patients, dexmedetomidine vs saline from surgical incision till 24h led to less atrial fibrillation (30% vs 34%, n.s.), but more delirium (17% vs 12%, n.s.), and more serious events (5% vs 1% ns).
