A nice study on the use of D-dimer for excluding left atrial thrombus.
Patients with D-dimer < (10 x patient's age) had 100% sensitivity and NPV for excluding LA thrombus.
This represented 60% of the population, who could in theory safely avoid TOE. https://t.co/OFUy9caWd0
